Problem
While Rockbot’s minimal initial functionality for a digital signage product proved helpful to some clients, its lack of sophistication was a deal-breaker for enterprise clients and clients who viewed digital signage as essential to their experience.
My Role
Product definition and strategy, competitive research, product architecture, dashboard and mobile interface design, stakeholder presentations, dev collaboration.

Solution
After analyzing and discussing the competitive landscape with stakeholders, we identified areas where our product needed to catch up with the industry (primarily the ability to package various types of content together and schedule them). We also discovered industry weaknesses where we could easily create a product advantage with centralized, real-time control and monitoring.
Even in its pre-release alpha state, our product was instrumental in securing a contract with the largest fitness chain in the nation — Planet Fitness. Shortly after its release, we also landed a deal with the largest retail brand — Walmart. These successes demonstrate the effectiveness and appeal of Rockbot's digital signage product.
